Daniel Hughes bagged a hat-trick as Dungannon Swifts stormed to a comprehensive defeat of Cliftonville at Stangmore Park.

Hughes opened the scoring on 32 minutes when he ran onto a Mark Patton pass to face down Reds keeper Richard Brush and calmly finish into the net.

Cliftonville got back on level terms on 57 minutes through Jamie Harney after he powered a header past Alex Moore after Joe Gorman delivered a crossover from the left.

But, just five minutes later, Hughes scored his second of the afternoon after being given time and space to get on the end of an Oisin Smyth pass to poke the ball past Brush.

Then, on 67 minutes, he laid claim to the match ball with a guided header home after Paul McElroy had dispossessed Ross Lavery before cutting the ball back from the right.

After the game, Cliftonville parted ways with manager Barry Gray.
