Crusaders cruised to a comfortable Brandywell defeat of Institute thanks to three first half goals.
Paul Heatley opened the scoring for the Crues after 13 minutes with a great finish when he was given lots of space after being found by Ronan Hale.
Joe McCready squandered an opportunity to level for 'Stute after half-an-hour with a shot straight at keeper Gerard Doherty from a Dean Curry through ball.
A minute later at the other end Ross Clarke went close with a header following a good build up.
However, two goals at the end of the first half effectively put the game to bed before the break.
Rory Patterson doubled Crusaders' lead on 43 minutes from the edge of the six yard box after Heatley's delivery before, a minute after that, Ronan Hale nodded home from close range after Heatley's initial saved effort fell into his path.
Institute pulled a goal back with just over a quarter-of-an-hour remaining when skipper Michael McCrudden showed some individual flair to take the ball past three defenders before beating substitute keeper Sean O'Neill.
Ronan Hale had two chances later in the game to extend Crusaders' lead but keeper Conan Doherty twice denied him, once with his feet and then diving to his left to turn the ball away.
