Paul Heatley helped himself to a four-goal haul as Crusaders swept to a commanding victory at Seaview.
The Crues moved in front after six minutes when, from a counter-attack, Heatley clipped the ball past the advancing Brian Neeson into the bottom corner.
Heatley then doubled Crusaders' lead 11 minutes later when Jordan Forsythe beat two defenders to lay the ball off for the former Carrick frontman to spot Neeson off his line and chip him from the edge of the area.
Both sides were reduced to ten men after 24 minutes when both Colin Coates and Miguel Chines were shown straight red cards following an altercation.
And Heatley claimed the match ball on 37 minutes when he got on the end of a long ball over the top to send a strong left-foot drive beyond Neeson.
There was still time for Heatley to knock home a fourth before the break - this time from the spot, sending Neeson the wrong way with his right-foot - after Mark Surgenor had handled Gavin Whyte's cross.
Heatley was also involved in Crusaders' fifth with just under a quarter-of-an-hour remaining when his pinpoint cross was nodded home by Andrew Mitchell.
