Two Jordan Owens goals helped Crusaders stretch their winning run to four games with a three-goal defeat of morning leaders Glenavon at Seaview.

Indeed, Owens was instrumental in the Crues opening the scoring when, on ten minutes, he delivered an inch perfect cross for Paul Heatley to knock a left-foot volley past Johnny Tuffey from twelve yards.

Declan Caddell almost added a second only to strike the crossbar from a Heatley pass before, a few minutes later, Owens did make it 2-0 with a backpost finish from Ross Clarke's perfectly delivered cross.

Clarke might have extended the home advantage not long after only to fire into the side netting before Stephen Murray squandered an opportunity at the other end when he fired over after being played clear.

After the break Heatley was twice denied by Tuffey with Murray also having further efforts for Glenavon but, again, a failing in front of goal let him down.

The game was put to bed with 11 minutes remaining when Owens doubled his tally in superb fashion after chesting the ball down before turning to unleash a powerful finish into the top corner from around 25 yards out.
