Crusaders bounced back from a couple of recent defeats to secure victory over Dungannon Swifts at Seaview.

Jordan Forsythe opened the scoring for the Crues after nine minutes when he was allowed to direct a free header into the bottom corner from David Cushley's cross from the left.

Paul Heatley thought he had doubled the home advantage midway through the first half but his sweet finish was ruled out offside.

And he was in action again not long after that when he showed superb technique to catch a volley flush on his left foot to produces a near-post save from Alex Moore.

The Crues came close again early in the second half when Cushley delivered a low cross to Declan Caddell but his close range effort was well saved.

But Dungannon might have levelled just after the hour courtesy of substitute Daniel Hughes' low drive from distance which forced Harry Doherty to work to make the save.

However, with seven minutes to go, Heatley almost killed the game off with two quick fire efforts on goal but he was thwarted by a superb double stop from the Swifts keeper.

Yet, moments later, the Swifts almost hit back with an equaliser only for Hughes to have a shot well stopped by Doherty and then Billy Joe Burns.
