CLUBS LEARN NEWS OF SCOTTISH CHALLENGE CUP OPPONENTS

Ballymena United and Glenavon have learned their opponents in the Third Round of the Scottish Challenge Cup.

The two Northern Ireland representatives enter the competition at the same stage as other clubs from Wales, England and the Republic of Ireland.

Glenavon have been drawn away to Highland League club Formartine United. The tie is scheduled to be played on the weekend of 6-8th September which has caused the postponement of the Lurgan Blues' Danske Bank Premiership game at home to Carrick Rangers on the 7th.

Meanwhile, Ballymena United received a home tie against Rangers U21 but details for this game have yet to be confirmed because it is likely Rangers will have a number of players on international duty that weekend.
