Crusaders remain three points clear of the pack following this comprehensive Seaview defeat of Warrenpoint Town.

The Crues raced into the lead after just 11 minutes when the ball broke for Paul Heatley to fire low into the bottom corner.

And it was 2-0 on 24 minutes after Warrenpoint 'keeper Jonathan Parr dropped a high Gavin Whyte ball for Jordan Owens to pounce and turn home.

Coasting by this stage, the Crues added a third ten minutes from the break when Whyte converted Diarmuid O'Carroll's well weighted pass.

It got worse for the visitors a couple of minutes from the break after they were reduced to ten men following Darren King's dismissal for a second bookable offence, on both occasions for a foul on Heatley.

Owens might have extended Crusaders' lead on 72 minutes with a shot against the underside of the bar but, within a minute, 'Point had pulled a goal back when, following a nice move, Stephen McCabe fired high past Sean O'Neill into the net.

However, with 13 minutes remaining, Heatley restored Crusaders' three-goal cushion after slotting past Parr from a Richard Clarke pass.
