CLINICAL CRUES MAINTAIN SIX POINT LEAD

Crusaders remain six points clear at the top of the table following this comfortable defeat of Institute at Seaview.

Jordan Owens opened the scoring for Stephen Baxter's side after beating the offside trap to get on the end of a Billy Joe Burns through ball to direct an effort beyond 'keeper Martin Gallagher.

Robbie Hume levelled for bottom of the table 'Stute eight minutes later, however, with a superb header from the edge of the box after Paddy McLaughlin had delivered a cross.

The Crues regained the advantage six minutes into the second half courtesy of a Diarmuid O'Carroll penalty after Declan Caddell had been brought own by defender Peter Bradley.

Hume might have equalised for the visitors again soon after but on this occasion his header from a Duwayne McManus cross went over.

But within a minute Owens secured the points for Crusaders with an easy header after Gavin Whyte had delivered the telling cross from the right flank.
