Crusaders stretched their winning streak to four games with this defeat of Glenavon at Mourneview Park.

The Crues started brightly with Jordan Forsythe seeing an early header nodded off the line by Andy Kilmartin before, on 13 minutes, Declan Caddell opened the scoring after getting behind a defender to connect with a perfectly delivered David Cushley pass from the left.

It was almost 2-0 a few minutes later only for Paul Heatley to uncharacteristically scuff an effort wide from the edge of the six yard box.

Mark Sykes might have levelled with a strongly delivered volley which he couldn't prevent from going over.

And he came close again with a free-kick which was deflected just wide of an upright while the Crues had the ball in the net but Caddell's 'goal' was ruled out offside.

Glenavon were denied by the woodwork twice in succession on the stroke of half-time when a Kris Lindsay touch from a free-kick hit the bar with James Gray's follow-up suffering a similar fate.

There was less action after the break as the Crues seemed content to contain the home threat with only a low Gray free-kick calling Sean O'Neill into action and even then he dealt with the ball comfortably.
