Linfield moved back to the top of the Danske Bank Premiership thanks to a 4-1 defeat of Warrenpoint Town at Milltown.

Aaron Burns opened the scoring after 35 minutes with a back post finish from a Kirk Millar cross.

However, 'Point levelled soon after courtesy of Martin Murray's curling effort past Roy Carroll into the bottom corner.

Louis Rooney restored Linfield's advantage just before the hour with a successfully converted spot-kick after Seanna Foster had brought down Jamie Mulgrew.

And Rooney doubled his tally with just under a quarter-of-an-hour remaining after he pounced on the loose ball when Town 'keeper Alan Blayney failed to hold on.

Then, three minutes from time, Mark Stafford completed the scoring with a tap-in from Niall Quinn's cross.
