Portia Long of BetMcLean and Coleraine manager Oran Kearney.

COLERAINE boss Oran Kearney has been named BetMcLean Manager of the Month for March. It's the fourth time this season that Kearney has collected NIFWA's coveted award.

Kearney said, "I would like to thank both BetMcLean and the Football Writers' for this award, but the credit for our recent success must go to the players.

"I was pleased with the consistency of the team this season, against all the teams because some of those scrapping down near the bottom can be very hard to put away and we respect all of our opponents.

"It was a month of everything with the Irish Cup semi-final against Larne and all the games in the league, and to be fair the players all responded positively."

In the month of March the Bannsiders booked their place in this year's Irish Cup final and continue the title challenge thanks to wins over Ballymena United, Ards and Carrick Rangers. Kearney is now looking forward to the final few games of the season.

"There's a great buzz about the club at the minute, we took a massive crowd to our game at Seaview last Tuesday, which is phenomenal. That comes from making it to last year's Irish Cup Final and all the hype and colour that went with it. Our average gate has almost doubled."

Paul McLean of sponsors BetMcLean said, "I'd like to congratulate Oran on his fourth award of the season. Coleraine have brought a breath of fresh air to the league this season."

NIFWA Chairman Keith Bailie said, "Coleraine were both superb in March, just as they have been all season.

"Oran is a very worthy winner of this award."
