A Timmy Adamson goal ten minutes from the break earned Crusaders the points from this Friday night visit of Dungannon Swifts to Seaview.

Adamson headed past Andy Coleman from a Craig McClean cross to move Stephen Baxter's side within a point of the leaders.

It was just what the Crues deserved after a bright first-half which saw Adamson also turn a close range effort against the crossbar before Cameron Grieve cleared the ball off the line to safety.

The Swifts had their chances, too, with Matt Hazley testing Sean O'Neill with a free-kick followed by an Andrew Mitchell strike.

After the break Richard Clarke fired just wide as the Crues looked to extend their lead as Diarmuid O'Carroll also came close before Swifts defender Douglas Wilson almost turned a Heatley cross past his own 'keeper.
