ROESIDERS ON FORM AGAINST NEWINGTON
Limavady United cruised to a convincing 4-1 victory over Newington at the Showgrounds on Saturday.
John Butcher opened the scoring from the penalty spot on 38 minutes to put Limavady in front.
In first half stoppage time, the home side were awarded another penalty - but this time Newington stopper Dean Smyth saved from Butcher - but couldn't prevent the onrushing Andrew Whiteside scoring from close range.
Matthew Walker made it three for Paul Owens' side when picked up the ball on the edge of the box and drilled a fierce left-footed shot into the top corner.
Newington did threaten to come back into the game as Patrick Downey pulled a goal back for the visitors on 59 minutes.
Substitute Joe McCready wrapped up the points with Limavady United's fourth and final goal three minutes from time, heading home from a yard out following a corner.
