SEASIDERS MARCH ON
Bangor's lead at the top of the Playr-Fit Championship stretched to 12 points with victory over HW Welders at the Blanchflower Stadium.
Leading scorer Ben Arthurs grabbed what turned out to be the only goal of the game six minutes from the break after he was played through by Ben Cushnie to slot the ball home at the far post.
The Seasiders were reduced to ten men early in the second half when Robert Garrett was dismissed for collecting his second caution of the game, but Bangor almost doubled their lead just after the hour when Stephen McGuinness saw an effort come back off an upright before falling to safety.
The Welders tried to make their extra man count and could have levelled eight minutes from time only for Josh Kee to strike the woodwork from the edge of the area.
