NEWELL AT THE DOUBLE FOR ARDS
Two goals in the final quarter of the game saw Ards defeat leaders HW Welders at Clandeboye Park.
The Welders actually moved in front when, on 25 minutes, David Parkhouse headed home an Ewan McCoubrey corner.
However Ards levelled just a few minutes after that when skipper Michael Ruddy found the net from the spot following a foul by Welders keeper Jack Mills.
That was how it stayed Lee Newell edged Ards in front after beating the offside trap and holding off the attentions of his marker to find the net.
Then, with six minutes remaining, he bagged his second of the game to secure the points for John Bailie's side.
