CALVERT GOAL ENOUGH FOR ANNAGH
An early goal at the BMG Arena was enough for Annagh United to get the better of Newry City.
What proved to be the winner arrived after just 12 minutes when Kris Calvert headed past keeper Conor Mitchell at the back post.
That came just after Lorcan Forde had rattled the crossbar for the visitors after latching onto a long ball forward.
Lee Upton thought he had doubled Annagh's lead early in the second half but his 'goal' was ruled out following a foul on keeper Conor Mitchell.
Newry were reduced to ten men moments later when Stephen Moan was shown a straight red card for a challenge on Craig Taylor.
The visitors came closest to levelling with around a quarter-of-an-hour remaining when Ryan McNickle delivered the ball into the box for Adam Carroll but his glancing header dropped just wide.
