WELDERS STAY TOP WITH VICTORY OVER ANNAGH
HW Welders remain on top of the Playr-Fit Championship on goal difference after coming from behind to win against Annagh United.
It was visiting Annagh who took an early lead through Ryan Swan after just nine minutes following a mix-up in the home defence.
The home side faced a further setback when they lost in form striker David Parkhouse to injury on 28 minutes.
However, the Welders rallied and levelled the score ten minutes before the interval, Tiarnan O'Connor picked up the ball and fired a magnificent 25 yard curling effort well out of goalkeeper Craughwell's reach.
HW Welders started the second half strongly and forced Annagh goalkeeper into action with a fine save from Oran O'Kane's header.
Tiarnan O'Connor struck again to score the winning goal for HW Welders on 68 minutes, as the visitors failed to deal with a long ball, and the striker capitalised to round the goalkeeper and tap into an empty net.
The victory keeps Paul Kee's side on top of the table after six rounds of games on goal difference over Limavady United, as Annagh United miss the chance to go second.
