BANGOR WIN NINE GOAL CHAMPIONSHIP THRILLER
Bangor came out victorious in one of the games of the season in the nine goal thriller at the Newry Showgrounds.
The Seasiders started the scoring after just five minutes when Matthew Ferguson broke through to coolly finish past the onrushing goalkeeper Mitchell.
The lead only lasted three minutes, as Dualta Honney fired home from close range for Barry Gray's side.
On 22 minutes, the visitors regained the lead after a scramble in the Newry penalty box, the ball was partially cleared only to Bangor's Lewis Harrison who fired a long range shot which deceived the Newry defence via a deflection into the net.
The action was relentless, as Newry fought back to draw level again as Honney stooped to head home a cross for his second goal of the game on 36 minutes.
Immediately after the interval, the home club took the lead for the first time in this game through Francis McCaffrey.
Within ten minutes, Bangor had turned this pulsating game on it's head once again - Matthew Ferguson equalised just 60 seconds later and on 55 minutes Kyle Owens rose highest to head the Seasiders into a 4-3 lead.
Newry came back once again with 15 minutes remaining, as substitute Adam Carroll found space to drill a low shot past Evan Ovendale.
The last word fell to Bangor's Ben Cushnie on 79 minutes who fired home the winning goal for Bangor from close range.
