SWANS HAVE TOO MUCH FOR COMRADES
Two early goals helped Newington defeat Ballyclare Comrades at Inver Park.
The Swans might have moved in front as early as the second minute when Gerard Storey turned an effort against an upright, but he did get on the scoresheet ten minutes after that with a 25-yard free-kick past keeper Gerard Walker.
Conall Curran then doubled Newington's lead after a quarter-of-an-hour on the rebound after Walker had made an initial save.
Darren Stuart came close to adding a third for the home side later in the first half only to strike the post.
Ballyclare almost pulled one back early in the second half through Brian Healy only for his looping header to also connect with the woodwork.
