PORTS MOVE INTO POLE POSITION
Portadown moved to the top of the Playr-Fit Championship with a three-goal defeat of Bangor at Clandeboye Park.
Although scoreless at the break, the Ports did craft a number of opportunities throughout the first half.
Douglas Wilson came close on nine minutes with a header just over the top from Ross Redman's free-kick.
Then, ten minutes after that, Redman saw a header from the back post turned away to safety by the home defence.
Bangor keeper James Taylor was then called into action after half-an-hour to turn a Paul McElroy shot away for a corner, with Brandon Diau coming close with a header from the subsequent set piece.
The Ports finally found a way through a minute into the second half when Eamon Fyfe capitalised on a Reece Neale slip to fire beyond Taylor.
Wilson then doubled their advantage just before the hour after reacting quickest to a rebound in the area to find the net.
And Fyfe bundled the ball over the line with a minute to go to complete the scoring and double his tally for the evening.
