PORTS CLOSING IN ON TOP SPOT
Portadown closed the gap at the top of the table to just two points with victory over Knockbreda at Shamrock Park.
Niall Currie's side moved in front on 25 minutes when Ryan Mayse converted from the spot, awarded after Lee Chapman had been brought down by Callum McVeigh on the right side of the area.
The Ports then made sure of the win with their second of the evening on 69 minutes when Mark Russell scrambled the ball home from point blank range after Ross Redman's corner had been knocked on.
