DERBY BRAGGING RIGHTS FOR WELDERS
HW Welders fought back from going behind early on to defeat Dundela in the east Belfast derby at the Blanchflower Stadium.
It started off well for the Duns after Lee Rea opened the scoring on five minutes with a great strike from the edge of the area into the bottom right, but they were reduced to ten men midway through the first half following Ewan Kelly’s dismissal for a bad challenge.
The Welders levelled through Oisin Barr early in the second half, with Dundela losing another player just after the hour when Jordan Jenkins was sent-off after bringing down Kyle Owens.
Matthew Ferguson then edged the Welders in front with a back post header with around a quarter-of-an-hour remaining, before he made sure of the points with his second of the game in stoppage time from close range - barely moments after Andy Hall had squandered the opportunity to level from the spot.
