DONNELLY GIVES SWANS THE EDGE
RuaidhrĂ Donnelly scored the only goal of the game as Newington defeated Ards at Inver Park.
The visitors had the ball in the net as early as the fifth minute but Ethan Taggart's header was ruled out following a push on Eamonn Hughes.
Ards continued to threaten, and were denied again midway through the first half when Max Greer had an effort cleared off the line.
Lee Newell then had a chance a few minutes into the second half only to fire just wide with only keeper Marc Maybin to beat.
However, it fell to Swans to claim the points when, on the hour, Donnelly slipped the ball through Neil Shields legs from the edge of the six yard box after Kevin Bradley had brought play forward with a run from deep within his own half.
