WELDERS TOO STRONG FOR SWANS
HW Welders swept to a comprehensive defeat of Newington at the Blanchflower Stadium.
All the scoring came in the first half with Tiarnan O'Connor firing the Welders in front as early as the eight minute with a superb strike from just inside the box straight into the top corner.
The Welders doubled their lead on 35 minutes courtesy of a fantastic volley from Ewan McCoubrey, but the visitors did pull one back moments later with a back post header by Ben McCaul.
However Matthew Ferguson restored the home two-goal advantage on the stroke of half-time after meeting a cross from the right to nod home.
