Institute and Dergview ended the calendar year by grinding out a scoreless draw at the Brandywell.
Chances were at a premium throughout, although 'Stute did come closest in the first half when a Shane Boyle effort was deflected just wide while, from the corner that followed, Shaun Leppard failed to keep his glancing header on target.
After the break a Michael Harris goalbound volley came off a team-mate before dropping the wrong side of the goal, although Oisin Devlin might have snatched the win right at the end with a 20-yard drive which drifted just wide.
