MALLARDS SWEEP PAST PORTS
Ballinamallard United swept to a three-goal victory over title hopefuls Portadown at Ferney Park.
After chances from Darragh Byrne and James McGrath, the Mallards finally found a way through two minutes from the break when John Edgar knocked the ball home at the second attempt after some indecision in the Portadown defence.
Then, six minutes after the break, Byrne doubled up after taking advantage of some more poor defending to slot the ball under keeper Gareth Buchanan.
Josh McIlwaine then completed the scoring with just over ten minutes remaining when he was left unmarked to head home a third for the Mallards.
