COMRADES HIT THREE PAST ARDS
Ballyclare Comrades hit three goals without reply past Ards on a cold night at Dixon Park.
The Comrades might have broken the deadlock with just over ten minutes on the clock when Calvin McCurry found his way into the box only to send his left-foot effort wide of the target.
But the home side did move in front midway through the first half when Gary Donnelly successfully converted from the spot with a penalty low and hard to the right of keeper Alex Moore.
The visitors reacted positively, however, and came close to levelling soon after only for Callum Dougan's finish to be deflected just past the post.
Ards dominated proceedings after the break with Ross Hunter, Aidan Steele and Eamon Scannell all having efforts on goal but to no avail.
James McLaughlin then came close with just over ten minutes remaining with an effort from a corner only for the home defence to make a last ditch clearance.
Ballyclare made sure of the points on 90 minutes, however, after a cross from Donnelly reached Darius Roohi to fire into the bottom corner.
Then, deep into stoppage time, Callum Ferris added a third with a backheel finish after Bobby Higgins had done well in the build up.
