FIVE STAR PORTS ON FIRE
Portadown cruised to a comfortable Friday night defeat of Newington at Shamrock Park to open up a three-point gap at the top of the Playr-Fit Championship.
Ryan Mayse opened the scoring on 12 minutes with a close range finish after Kenny Kane had played the ball across the face of goal from the left side of the area.
Luke Wilson doubled up midway through the first half with a header at the far post before, on the half-hour, Eamon Fyfe added a third from the edge of the six yard box.
Kane then got on the scoresheet five minutes after the break with a powerful strike from the left edge of the box into the opposite corner.
Zach Barr pulled one back for the Swans just before the hour mark from point blank range but, with nine minutes left, Caolin Coyle restored Portadown's four goal advantage with a sweeping finish from inside the area.
