NINE GOAL THRILLER AT DIXON PARK
Calvin McCurry bagged a hat-trick as Ballyclare Comrades defeated Ards in a remarkable game at Dixon Park.
Owen McConville opened the scoring after just four minutes with a back post volley from Cillin Gilmour's flick, with McCurry doubling up with his first of the afternoon on 21 minutes into the bottom corner.
Ballyclare had a chance to extend their lead soon after only for Gary Donnelly to see a spot-kick saved by keeper Neil Shields.
But their third did arrive on 36 minutes when McCurry hit his second on the rebound after Darius Roohi's initial effort had been pushed out.
Ards pulled one back moments later courtesy of a James McLaughlin header but Michael Morgan restored Ballyclare's three-goal cushion just before the break after being teed up by Roohi.
There was a break in the scoring until a goal flurry in the closing minutes.
McCurry notched up his hat-trick goal on 80 minutes, but two goals in quick succession soon after from McLaughlin saw him also claim his hat-trick.
And to cap off a memorable encounter Comrades keeper Declan Breen completed the scoring in stoppage time when he hit a goalkick from his own area the full length of the pitch and beyond his opposite number!
