PORTS HAVE TOO MUCH FOR 'BREDA
Goals from Ryan Mayse and Paul McElroy helped Portadown to an away win over Knockbreda.
Mayse opened the scoring with barely 30 seconds on the clock when he controlled a McElroy delivery to the back post before slotting past Marc Matthews from ten yards.
The Ports continued to press, with Eamon Fyfe and Kenny Kane going close soon after before McElroy sent another just past the left post.
For 'Breda Conor Quinn hit a half volley just over from the edge of the box, while Ronan Kalla offering up a similar effort later in the first half.
After the break Fyfe sent a looping header over the top, with Eoghan McCawl fizzing an effort past the right post and Mayse then sending a powerful shot and turn just a little too high.
But Portadown's second goal did arrive eight minutes from time when McCawl turned the ball against an upright before laying the rebound off for McElroy to blast home from the edge of the area.
