WELDERS MAKE PORTS PAY THE PENALTY
Michael McLellan grabbed HW Welders' winner as they defeated Portadown at the Blanchflower Stadium.
Scoreless at the break, both sides had their chances with Matthew Ferguson, Jonny Frazer and Kyle Owens all threatening for the Welders while Ryan Mayse came close on occasion for the visitors.
McLellan might have broken the deadlock midway through the second half only to see his header flicked onto the post by keeper Gareth Buchanan.
But he went one better on 77 minutes when he kept his composure to step up and knock home the only goal of the game from the spot.
