SWANS STORM TO THE TOP
Newington moved to the top of the Playr-Fit Championship with a three goal away win over morning leaders Annagh United.
Annagh did have the ball in the net midway through the first half but Stephen Murray's finish was ruled out offside.
The visitors moved in front not long after that, however, courtesy of Jack Reilly's clinical finish past Jason Craughwell.
The Swans then doubled their lead through Seamus Duffy moments from the break, but Annagh were presented with an opportunity to pull one back from the spot almost immediately only for Declan Carville to send his penalty over the bar.
And Annagh were thrown another lifeline early in the second when Newington's Zach Barr was dismissed for collecting his second caution of the game.
However, the ten men of the visitors held onto their lead and, indeed, extended it just after the hour through Paul Donnelly to make sure of the win.
