PORTS EDGE OUT DERGVIEW
Portadown began life back in the Championship by getting the better of Dergview by the odd goal in five at Darragh Park.
Garth Falconer had edged Dergview in front on 33 minutes only for Caolin Coyle to level deep into first half stoppage time with a first time effort from distance.
Eamon Fyfe nudged the Ports into the lead on 54 minutes with Paul McElroy hitting number three with less than 20 minutes to go.
Thomas Mullen struck late on to set up a nervy finish but Niall Currie’s side held on to claim the point.
