WELDERS IN SEVENTH HEAVEN
HW Welders swept to a thumping defeat of Knockbreda at the Blanchflower Stadium.
Matthew Ferguson opened the scoring as early as the third minute with a low driven shot into the bottom corner before, on 18 minutes, he combined with Michael McLellan to create space for Jonny Frazer to smash the ball home.
McLellan then extended the Welders' lead midway through the first half from the spot - and he then doubled his tally for the afternoon before the half-hour mark on the counter attack.
Barry Moore pulled one back for 'Breda with a header early in the second half but three goals in the last 20 minutes saw the Welders underline their hold on the game.
Liam Toman made it 5-1 on 70 minutes with a tap in, with Mohamed Ayari adding a sixth with eight minutes remaining with a near post header after connecting with a cross from the right. Lewis Patterson then completed the scoring in stoppage time.
