FIVE STAR WELDERS THUMP BALLYCLARE
HW Welders turned in a five-star performance to sweep to victory over Ballyclare Comrades at the Blanchflower Stadium.
Michael McLellan opened the scoring after just eight minutes with a free-kick that deflected past keeper Declan Breen.
Matthew Ferguson added a second three minutes before half-time with an unmarked header at the back post from a McLellan cross.
The visitors pulled a goal back early in the second half after a Calvin McCurry ball into the box came off Welders defender James McCarthy.
Ferguson restored the Welders' two-goal advantage just before the hour from close range after another McLellan cross, before McLellan himself bagged his second of the afternoon with a crisp finish from just inside the box.
Daniel McClay then completed the scoring in stoppage time into the corner of the net from just outside the box.
