'POINT POWER INTO THIRD SPOT
Warrenpoint Town powered their way into third spot in the Championship with a 4-1 defeat of Newington at Solitude.
Scoreless for most of the first half, two goals right before the break put 'Point very much in control.
Fra McCaffrey opened the scoring on 45 minutes after he had been teed up by Adam Carroll ... with Carroll himself getting on the scoresheet in stoppage time with a slotted finish after intercepting the ball.
Steven Ball then added a third four minutes into the second half with a header from McCaffrey's cross to effectively settle the game.
Carroll doubled his tally for the evening just before the hour while Gary Warwick turned home a 75th minute consolation for the Swans.
