NEWRY STAND POISED
Newry City have all but secured the Lough 41 Championship title following a three-goal victory over HW Welders at the Blanchflower Stadium.
Darren Mullen's side are six points clear of nearest challengers Annagh United and possess a superior goal difference going into the final two games of the season.
The visitors moved in front on 27 minutes through Northern Ireland U21 international John McGovern who twisted and turned inside the box before placing a shot beyond the home keeper into the bottom corner.
NIFWA Championship Player of the Month Philip Donnelly then added a second on 38 minutes after the ball had fallen for him on the edge of the six yard box.
Then, five minutes into the second, Darren King completed the scoring with a free header from a corner.
