WELDERS HIT THREE TO GO THIRD
HW Welders leapfrogged Ballinamallard United into third spot in the Lough 41 Championship with victory over Harry McConkey's side at Ferney Park.
The Welders had the ball in the net just after the half-hour mark but Michael McLellan's finish was ruled out offside.
However, the visitors did take the lead soon after when Scott Davidson sent a looping effort over Jamie Ray from the left side of the area into the opposite corner.
The Mallards thought they had levelled before the break but, as earlier, the 'goal' was ruled out offside while Callum Moorehead and BJ Banda combined early in the second half but the effort was dealt with by Welders keeper Joe McGovern.
Further efforts came via Richard Clarke and Josh McIlwaine as the home side pushed for the equaliser but it fell to the Welders to find the net again with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining when Charlie Dornan was presented with a free header at the back post to nod home a free-kick from the left.
Then, with a minute of normal time remaining, Jake Corbett added a third with a stunning 25-yard strike into the top corner.
