STUDENTS MAKE IT THREE IN A ROW
Queen's University recorded a third win in a row across all competitions with victory over HW Welders at the Blanchflower Stadium.
Scoreless for the first half-an-hour, the deadlock was broken on 32 minutes when a corner was headed home at the near post by Adam Robinson.
The Students doubled their advantage just before the break. A cross was delivered from the right for Lorcan McIlroy to meet it at the back post to direct a free header past Ben McCauley.
The Welders, one of a number of sides locked in a fierce battle for a top six spot, pulled a goal back on 79 minutes through an Alan McMurtry spot-kick but it wasn't enough to spark a late revival for Gary Smyth's side.
