DUNS HIT TWO PAST ARDS AT WILGAR
Two second half goals saw Dundela defeat title chasing Ards at Wilgar Park.
Scoreless at half-time, Ards might have edged in front when Kym Nelson ran with the ball along the edge of the area before testing Marc Matthews with a fierce left foot strike which the home keeper did well to save.
Salou Jallow then had a go for the visitors but Matthews comfortably smothered the effort while another shot from Nelson was gathered at the near post.
The Duns almost moved in front in somewhat fortunate circumstances when Rhys Annett's effort took a deflection off TJ Murray and fell just the wrong side of the post.
Ards continued to knock on the door with Nelson and then Murray both having shots on goal blocked by the home defence while, after the break, Jallow fizzed another effort wide.
The deadlock was broken on 54 minutes when Murray brought down Eddie Shaw outside the area and from the resultant free-kick dead ball specialist Tony Kane stepped up to send home an exquisite strike past a stranded Brian Neeson.
Ards continued to enjoy large periods of possession but couldn't find a way past Matthews and, indeed, almost fell further behind when Annett struck the crossbar from the edge of the area on the counter attack.
However, Dundela made sure of the points deep into stoppage time when Jordan Hughes laid the ball off for fellow substitute Michael Smith to sweep an effort home unmarked inside the area.
