McCARTNEY SPOT-KICK GIVES MALLARDS THE EDGE
Ballinamallard United leapfrogged Annagh United into the top six with victory in the meeting between the sides at Ferney Park.
Scoreless at the break, what proved to be the only goal of the game came early in the second half when the experienced Jay McCartney stepped up to convert from the spot.
The Mallards pushed hard to extend their advantage as the game progressed with Reece Byrne, BJ Banda and Mark Edgar all going close while, at the end other end, keeper Rory Brown, made a save from point blank range in the closing moments to make sure the points stayed with the home side.
