SCANNELL DOUBLE KEEPS ARDS TOP
Ards continued their charge at the top of the Lough 41 Championship with victory over bottom club Queen's University at Clandeboye Park.
Eamon Scannell grabbed both goals for the league leaders, his first coming on 42 minutes with a finish into the opposite corner after collecting the ball from Salou Jallow.
And number two came just before the hour. TJ Murray was brought down inside the box by Queen's defender Adam Calvert - who was subsequently sent-off - with Scannell stepping up to take the spot-kick. Daniel Devine did well to save the penalty but Scannell made amends by lifting the follow up into the roof of the net.
