ARDS TOO STRONG FOR MALLARDS
Ards moved joint top of the Lough 41 Championship following a Saturday evening victory over Ballinamallard United at Clandeboye Park.
John Bailie's side share an identical record with Newry City after ten games, with the sides tied on points, wins, goal difference and goals scored.
Ards moved in front after 16 minutes through Eamon Scannell following a breakaway, coming not long after Niall Grace had a chance for the Mallards from 20 yards.
The visitors levelled after half-an-hour courtesy of Josh McIlwaine's finish but Ards regained the lead soon after when Daniel Reynolds converted from the spot.
Calvin McCurry then added a third for Ards midway through the second half to kill the game off as a contest.
