McLAUGHLIN GRABS 'STUTE WINNER AT THE DUB
Institute continued their recent revival in form with a narrow victory over Queen's University at The Dub.
The Students started well, coming close twice in the opening exchanges with efforts into the side netting and then squandered from a good position.
It took 'Stute a little while to come into the game but when they did Conor Quigley could only fire over after Rhys McDermott, Liam Walsh and Jamie Dunne all combined to create an opening.
Moving into the second half, 'Stute keeper John Connolly did well to deny Queen's after a striker burst through on goal just after the hour.
But Institute claimed the points with what proved to be the only goal of the game on 72 minutes when Oran Brogan nodded the ball on for Brendan McLaughlin to get past his marker and fire from 20 yards into the bottom corner.
