NEWRY SEAL WIN WITH LATE SPOT KICK
A last gasp Daniel Hughes spot-kick helped Newry City claim the full points over HW Welders at The Showgrounds.
The Welders moved in front midway through the first half courtesy of a composed Michael McLellan finished after he got on the end of a defence splitting ball to nutmeg the advancing Steven Maguire.
Newry levelled six minutes from the break after Jimmy Walker received the ball from the left and duly responded with a thumping long range strike past Ben McCauley.
And Darren Mullen's side edged into the lead around the hour with a great solo finish from Thomas Lockhart which saw him cut through the Welders defence after receiving the ball just inside his own half.
The visitors looked to have secured a point when, in the closing minutes, Darren Murray rose highest to connect with a cross from the left to nod home from just outside the six yard box.
However, with the last kick of the game, Hughes stepped up to fire home Newry's winner despite McCauley getting a hand to the ball.
