DOUBLES FOR McLELLAN AND MURRAY AS WELDERS HIT FIVE
Michael McLellan and Darren Murray both bagged a double as HW Welders got the new campaign off to an impressive start with victory over Queen's University at The Dub.
McLellan struck after a quarter-of-an-hour with a bullet header from a fantastic right-sided cross before Ryan Deans followed up not long after with a low strike past keeper Conan Doherty, again after the ball had come over from the right.
McLellan then doubled his tally after the break with a spectacular finish into the top corner.
He then turned provider to tee substitute Darren Murray up at the back post to add a fourth from close range on 77 minutes.
And it fell to Murray to complete the scoring in stoppage time after breaking free of the home defence and smashing a fifth past Doherty.
