BALLYCLARE STUN PORTS WITH EARLY DOUBLE
Ballyclare Comrades shocked league leaders Portadown with two early goals to claim victory at Shamrock Park.
The visitors needed just 20 seconds to move in front when Andy Gray found the net from close range after connecting with Thomas Robinson's cross from the right.
Then, on 14 minutes, Robinson provided the decisive ball again after his delivery was pushed out by keeper Benjamin Pierce only as far as Nathan O'Neill who duly smashed it into the net from nine yards.
The shell shocked Ports offered up a few half chances but none really threatened until Paddy McNally turned a header just the wrong side of the post followed by a fierce drive from Stephen Teggart which Ben McCauley turned away for a corner.
Home skipper Luke Wilson was unlucky just before the break when, following a scramble in the box, his hooked effort fell just wide.
The Ports crafted their next meaningful effort midway through the second half when Callum Ferris was sent clear but he couldn't produced a strong enough finish to trouble McCauley while, soon after, Stephen Murray could only look on as his shot across the face of goal drifted wide of the right post.
