MALLARDS EDGE TEN-GOAL FERNEY THRILLER
Three late goals in the final few minutes ensured Ballinamallard United defeated PSNI in a sensational clash at Ferney Park.
The visitors moved in front after eight minutes when Tony Tumelty cut through the home defence before firing across John Connolly from the edge of the area into the right corner of the net.
But, just four minutes later, Ryan Campbell levelled for Ballinamallard with a close range header while, not long after that, Sean McEvoy hit the bar from a Jason McCartney cross.
The PSNI regained the advantage on 26 minutes when Curtis Brown was afforded a free header from a corner but, once again, the Mallards responded quickly when an Aaron Arkinson cross went straight past keeper Dylan Stewart.
Following a lengthy delay after McCartney received treatment for a head injury, Ballinamallard moved in front for the first time moments from the break when Campbell touched the ball over the line at the end of a goalmouth scramble.
Back came the PSNI through Kyle McCleery's right footed turn and shot from inside the area just after the hour before, on 76 minutes, James Turk restored the lead for the visitors after rising at the near post to glance home a corner delivered from the right.
An already remarkable game then took a further twist in the final few minutes when the Mallards hit those three goals in quick succession to ultimately secure the points.
Campbell bagged his hat-trick on 88 minutes to make it 4-4 after McEvoy's corner was bundled over the line, followed swiftly by Ryan Mayse's close range finish from Richard Clarke's free-kick.
Then, two minutes into added time, McEvoy knocked home a sixth for the Mallards when he was played through on the counter attack to beat Stewart at the right post.
