SEVEN FOR THE PORTS AS LEAD STRETCHES TO DOUBLE FIGURES
Portadown hit seven past Queen's University at Shamrock Park to open up a ten point lead at the top of the Bluefin Sport Championship.
Adam Salley bagged a hat-trick, Chris Lavery hit two while Stephen Murray wrapped things up right at the end.
However, the scoring was kicked off midway through the first half by Luke Wilson who rose highest to head home a George Tipton corner.
Lavery made it 2-0 just before half-time, helping the ball over the line after Salley's shot on goal had been held up by the conditions.
But Salley did get his name on the scoresheet early in the second half with a drilled finish after beating two defenders before striking again on 51 minutes after Lee Bonis had flicked on Christopher Crane's free-kick.
Queen's pulled a goal back just before the hour through Brendan Glackin's shot high into the net but, on 71 minutes, Salley restored Portadown's four-goal advantage - and claimed his hat-trick - with a thumping dipping volley over keeper Declan Brown.
Not content with that, the Ports hit number six on 80 minutes with Lavery's second of the afternoon from close range with Murray completing the scoring after turning to touch home a Salley ball.
