VILLAGERS CLOSE IN ON TOP TWO
Loughgall closed the gap on second place to two points with victory over HW Welders at Tillysburn Park.
The Villagers are now within touching distance of Ballinamallard United having joined them on 26 games, and a further five points adrift of leaders Portadown.
New signing from Dundela, Ben Murdock, opened the scoring for the Villagers on 24 minutes when he got the final touch after going for a Scott McCullough corner with team-mate Jordan Lyttle.
The Welders were reduced to ten men just before the break when Gary Spence received his second booking for unsporting behaviour, and it got worse for the home side on 52 minutes when Nathaniel Ferris extended Loughgall's lead after racing onto the ball to confidently slot past Ryan Miskelly.
Matthew Ferguson did pull one back for the Welders just after the hour with a header from a corner but it wasn't enough to spark a comeback in the latter stages of the game.
